Clinical Research Our lab is interested in the various neuromuscular disorders, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), chronic inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP), myasthenia gravis (MG), and muscular dystrophies. We perform various clinical trials international or national, and genotype-phenotype correlation study. Our lab also do clinical electrophysiological studies using electromyography, nerve conduction study, evoked potential, and autonomic function tests. Basic Research Our lab is focusing on the pathogenic mechanisms of intractable diseases as well as various neurodegenerative diseases including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and to develop a treatment and thus help patients suffering from rare and intractable diseases. The disease being studied with most priority is ALS, and the current study fields include the development of biomarkers for the diagnosis of hereditary & sporadic ALS and serial observation, Other than that, various clinical studies are being
